Head to tracko for a brief explanation. Study the photo and you'll understand how the cog works. Basically, you tighten the black cylindrical piece onto your hub, and the three cogs become conveniently interchangeable. I think I'll pump some iron and polish my chain whip before I drop $110 for convienence. None-the-less, it is a terrific design. I wish that the bicycle industry would recognize this technology and standardize the design, so it becomes easier to interchange brands.

S3X 3-Speed Fixed Gear

The first batch of prototype Fixed Gear 3 speeds is finished. The new hub will be called the S3X. The hub will be made using a much stronger aluminum hubshell. Overall gear range will be 160%.

1st Gear -37.5%

2nd Gear - -25%

3rd Gear - Direct Drive

Gear step gear 1 to gear 2: 20%

Gear step gear two to gear 3: 33%

Take a look at the Trek Districts new drivetrain. I suppose if they are even considering using a belt drive, this one must work well enough. I doubt that one of those can hold up to everyday skidding of a regular track bike, but this isn't necessarily a track bike, I just had high hopes for it.

DIY reversible top tube pad

First, I started with an existing top tube pad as my base. Then I cut two tubes in half and washed the insides out(there is a powder substance on the inside). After cutting them to the right sizes, I made a weave pattern.

I used pins to keep them together during sewing.

I only sewed vertical lines. Sewing horizontal with the weave is unnecessary, but would make your pad extra brawny, roar!

Pinned and sewed velcro on the end of each side.
You may have to have your bike present in order to get the right positioning of the velcro. I intended on using a foam pad underneath, but it is definitely not required. In the end, you may find that you must trim excess rubber off and re-sew a side.

Start with an old chain and tube

measure how many links you will need

Use your chain tool to adjust your chain to the right length.

Cut your tube to match the chain length.
Then insert the chain and sew shut.
(I chose to sew tightly incase i cut the excess off later)

Tube cut and sewn to cover exposed part of chain.
Sew the velcro accordingly.

Final product mounted on bike.
For best results, slide the cover piece up under the saddle rails.

Bent Fork : quick fix

This is a jig I made one day after I picked up a used bike that had a bent fork.
Using (2)2x4's,(3)U-Bolts, (6) Hex-nuts, and (1) Wrench, I was able to make my fork nearly perfect. This process is a lot of trial and error and could definitely take an hour or so.
